What are the trees with the white flowers?

I live in Tulsa, OK and the place is covered in trees with white flowers. I have heard they are Bradford Pear trees, but some of them are HUGE (25-30 ft). Didn't think pear trees got that big. What kind of trees are these? I love the white flowers, but they smell really bad.

They are Bradford pears. I have seen them as tall as 35 feet, but most are 20 feet. They do have an unusual smell. They were a very popular "small" tree during the 1980s and early 1990s, but are not used as much today. They were very popular in commercial landscapes.
Reply:Most Bradford pear trees reach 15 feet after 10 years so to be that tall, they have to be at least 20-30 years old. They have beautiful white flowers this time of the year and is widely grown in Tulsa.

Reply:a tree that large is in the pear family it is called an arstricate pear they grow very tall but the blooms smell really bad

Reply:They are indeed a Bradford Pear. They are in full bloom right now. Just over the state line in AR we have a similar to Dogwood Tree called a Sarviceberry. They strongly resemble the Dogwood. Our Bradford Pears are also in full bloom. You can tell a Bradford by it's distinct shape. It is more tapered than the random shaped Dogwood. Beautiful tree but just a so-so aroma to the flowers.
