What's the name of a flower, maybe called "bobeca" it's a tiny white flower that looks like strawberry blossom

This flower type is common in hanging baskets, it's just this dainty white flower with a yellow center and it trails beautifully in baskets. I would like to know the name of that type of flower.

Thanks.

Red flowers are dominant over white flowers in Indian Paintbrush. Predict the phenotypic ratio for a cross?

between two heterozygous parents.

all red

1 red and 1 white

3 red and 1 white

or all white

Red flowers are dominant over white flowers in Indian Paintbrush. Predict the phenotypic ratio for a cross?
3 red and 1 white

Reasoning

Parent "A" can give a R or a W

Parent "B" can give a R or a W

new plant can receive ...RR,WR,RW,WW

All of these give a red plant except WW.

Mendel made an analogous discovery in his pea plants, when he did his earliest experiments
Reply:3 red and 1 white

What offspring are produced from a cross of a heterozygous plant and a homozygous white flowered plant?

In snapdragons, the alleles for flower color exibit an incomplete dominance between the tw alleles (red,Cr,and white ,Cw).The floral color of a heterozygous plant is pink as these flowers have less red pigment than homozygous red plants.

What offspring are produced from a cross of a heterozygous plant and a homozygous white flowered plant?
One half will be pink, while one half will be white.

Using the Punnett square:

CrCw x CwCw =

CrCw (pink)

CrCw (pink)

CwCw (white)

CwCw (white)

I can't draw it here, so you'll have to draw it for yourself.
Reply:let's say red is R and white is W.

R W

W RW WW

W RW WW

so 50% pink and 50% white

What do you think about a black and white wedding with bright colored flowers???

Im not going for the goth look, i just loved the contrast of the two colors and i personally feel that baby blue and light greens are a little too eastery for a wedding and since my wedding is in April these are the more popular colors. Im not too crazy about pastel bridemaid dresses. I will have an all white wedding dress and my bridesmaids will have black dresses with a white sash. Any Opinions??? Thanks!

What do you think about a black and white wedding with bright colored flowers???
Hi and congratulations!

To be honest....any color goes at anytime as far as I'm concerned! Black dresses will look very pretty against some bright colored flowers. You can do all one color....say PINK roses....PINK tulips....PINK gerbera daisies.....or a mixture of any of these flowers with other colors! I happen to think pink and black look very stunning together.

It would also look very nice with the small sunflowers -- bright yellow!!

I think your look is elegant! Good luck!
Reply:What about black, white and pale blue? Maybe your bridesmaids could wear a light blue sash with their dress. You can also vary the color combinations to not make it look like an Easter basket. Champagne and light blue would be a nice color combination.
Reply:I think it would be gorgeous!!! Just make sure you have BRIGHT, eyecatching flowers!!!

http://www.noriravi.com/Thumbnails;jsess...
Reply:I think that sounds like a nice idea. I think it would look good, and it wouldn't look gothic as long as everyone was holding bright flowers. I especially like the white sash idea. Maybe you could also make sure the bridesmaids will have some other splash of color, like earrings or shoes or jewelery. And your fiance should wear a brightly colored tie that matches the flowers.
Reply:I did this same thing (minus the white sash) for our recent October wedding. The wedding was outdoors and it was in the afternoon. Everyone looked great! Not gothic or funeral-like at all. We had wildflower bouquets that were all sorts of colors and they just looked wonderful with the black dresses--really vibrant. I think your plan sounds great! I'm not crazy about pastels either. Good luck.
Reply:Your colors sound fine...IF and ONLY IF it is an EVENING wedding in April...a daytime wedding in those colors in spring...hmmm...well you COULD...but make sure the bridesmaids don't look like its a funeral...add some white accent to the black dresses...sashes?
Reply:I love it, I bet it will look great!
Reply:I think it's a good idea, one of my friends did that and she asked that all the people attending wear black and white as well, it was fun, and cute :-) it's your wedding so just do it however you want :-)
Reply:I went to a wedding very similar to what you want last year.

The BM's wore black dresses, all different styles to fit each individual body shape, and they carried hot pink, orange and yellow flowers. The colors really looked good together. And I liked that idea. It saved money for each BM too because they could find a simple elegant black dress that fit then and there (no alterations needed) at their favorite store in the mall for $50 rather than spending a fortune on a BM dress that costs $300 with alterations and everything.
Reply:I think it'd be beautiful. You can do whatever color combination you want! You dont even have to stick to two colors... you can just have BURSTS of colorful bunches scattered about. (I'm thinkin about the floral arrangements that they have in the lobbys of large hotels... with the funky Paradise flower thing) Thats lovely!!
Reply:Keep the bright flowers the same type and it will look great. Majority roses, sunflowers, etc in a rainbow of colors will look smashing.
Reply:That sounds really pretty. I love the contrast of black and white and I think it can look so classy. If your wanting a bright color to throw in the mix, I would definately go with pink-light or dark. This could work with all of your smaller details. Maybe a hint of pink in the bouquets or even a pink ribbon around the stems. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Reply:i think the brightly colored flowers will make everything look absolutely gorgeous. you can pick any colors you want!

i chose to have a navy blue bridesmaid dress for the same reason. i hate pastel colored dresses. and i am getting married in july.
Reply:I talked to my florist ta few days ago and he was talking about the most beautiful wedding he had ever done was all black and white and then the bridesmaids had deep pink roses I think? Anyway I agree with Nancy as long as it is in the evening it sounds beautiful.

Good Luck!
Reply:I had a wedding in April that I went to and it was black and white. Of Course it was night time and the flowers were one Long stemmed red rose. It was beautiful. Good Luck
Reply:Your wedding colors do sound very formal and would be wonderful for an evening wedding. I've seen a wedding like this with red roses as the flowers. They made the whole event seem very gothic. I've also seen this done with bright pink lillies. This looked really beautiful. I think that orange would also be lovely. I had an April wedding with pastel colors, but I do understand that this isn't to everyone's taste.
Reply:Love It!!!!!

I get what your saying about the pastels and such. However, I think bouquets w/ pink, peach, champagne and ivory colored flowers would look Fab w/ your black dresses.

The flowers will definitely POP against the black. Also, your dress will appear more crisp white, next to the black contrast.
Reply:well that is gothic
Reply:You can choose any color flowers you want. They will all go great against Black and White! how about some vibrant hot pinks, and orange?

Reply:My wedding is next month, and my colors are ivory, pink, and black. The flowers and centerpieces are going to have different shades of pink, and my bridesmaids are wearing formal black dresses. It's going to look so pretty! You could even do lilac as the accent color as well.
Reply:I vote for red! Because, like someone else said, your colors are formal and I think that will keep it formal.
Reply:DO ANYTHING YOU WANT TO. It is your wedding and as long as your hubby to be is down with it....do it.

I never have understood why the men are all in black while the women are in colors anyway......(no jokes about cuz the men know what a death sentence they are entering into.........)

DO IT DO IT DO IT. And don't worry about what anyone says---you can't do that for an afternoon wedding, you can't do that for a spring wedding bla, bla, bla----------just do it. It's YOUR wedding.
Reply:Absolutely Beautiful... Go for it!! Use pastel pinks and purples.
Reply:if your wedding is in April them duh make it Easter colors and your bridesmaids needed different colors not black

What is that green/ white that you shove fake flowers into called?

its this foamy thing but whats it called?

What is that green/ white that you shove fake flowers into called?
The white or green foam material is floral styrofoam. They come in shapes - like hearts, cones, stars, cross, etc., and they come in boards usually 12 inches wide, 36"long and in 1", 2" or 4" thickness.

These are the type that you can't soak in water because these were designed for silk or dried flowers and foliages. These also come in bricks 3" X 4" X8". You can find these in any craft stores or your local florist. The more famous brand names for the brick type foam are Oasis and Capri.

The other type of foam is the floral foam for fresh flowers. These are the type that you should soak in water. If you gently drop the foam on water and let it absorb water by itself, in 3-10 minutes, the foam should be fully saturated with water and can be used for your flower arrangement. The brand names are also Oasis, Capri and Aquafoam.
Reply:Oasis - it holds water as well as keeps the plants in place.
Reply:the green and white blocks are foam that is man made for decorations
Reply:it called Oasis, you have to soak itin water until it becomes totally saturated usually overnight before using it in fresh arrangements
Reply:It varies. It is called Styrofoam. Sometimes it's called Floral Foam, I think.

My mom does crafts .
Reply:There are two types of foam. One is called oasis, and the other is a flower craft foam. One is used for fresh flowers, and has to be soaked in water first. Be sure to tell the salesperson at the craft store which kind you want.

What type of plant grows on a thorny vine, has a small white flower, and a dark blue berry?
could it be one of the deadly nightshades?...

nasty stuff... yank it and toss it....NOT in the compost tho....
Reply:Sounds like it might be blackberry. They do not grow as a bush but as a vine. Not knowing what part of the country you are in, really can't say for sure. If you are in the Texas, Arkansas, etc. area, they are quite common. Very good to make jam, jelly, cobblers and I have known people who canned them. If they are blackberries, be sure and make a cobbler and top it with ice cream. It is delicious.

very pretty bush with tons of little white flowers, with a strong spicy scent...prunes and shapes to a very pretty bush, seemed very hardy since it faced the north...sometimes bloomed more than once...never knew what it was, but moved before I could find out what it was...

Sounds like a Korean Spice Viburnum. Picture at source. There are so many families of bushes. Really just need to search through books, catalogs, etc til you spot it. Without a full description of the leaves - leaves us all guessing. Am going by scent on my pick.
Reply:That sounds like a gardenia. They have a wonderful perfume, dark green shiny leaves, and make a great shrub. They require an acidic soil, and lots of humidity. You should be able to get them from any reputable nursery in your area. Enjoy!

A cross between plants with red flowers and plants with white flowers produces plants with pink flowers.?

If two of these pink-flowered plants are crossed, what is the chance that pink-flowered plants will be produced?

A cross between plants with red flowers and plants with white flowers produces plants with pink flowers.?
1/2 or 50%.

This inheritance pattern is incomplete dominance because the heterozygous individual has an intermediate form of the trait.

RR=red

RW=pink

WW= white

RW x RW yields RR, RW, WR, WW

1 red: 2 pink: 1 white
Reply:it depends on whether the colors are co-dominant
Reply:Well, if it is a crossbreed, than its unlikely. Heridty is determined that if two different flower colors are crossed, then there are 3 outcomes. 1: can't be cross-polunated, no offspring.2: either white, red, of both colors offspring color. 3: it changes color(highly unlikely), and can't be reproduced( single generation species). Of course, to cross polunate it, both plants have to be in the same genus, or at least in the same family.

I know red and white flowers are unlucky together but what about red and white table napkins?

It would be interesting to hear other peoples ideas on this subject.

I know red and white flowers are unlucky together but what about red and white table napkins?
My idea, without meaning to offend you, is that you are off your rocker! There's no such thing as unlucky, unless you make it yourself. Good luck!
Reply:Red and White flowers is said to be unlucky as it's supposed to represent Blood and Bandages. I haven't heard anything about napkins though, so if it looks nice then go for it.
Reply:I never heard that about red and white flowers; I doubt it applies to napkins though...
Reply:I once tried this while having a couple of cannibals round to dinner!! One of them accidentally bit off three of his own fingers,

while the other slipped on a knob of butter and smacked his chin on the edge of the table breaking his jaw and losing a few teeth.

As he got up from the floor he banged his head on the table again which gave him a nice lump. We all saw the funny side of this and laughed all night. I didnt dare mention to them that red and white napkins on the same table may bring bad luck!!
Reply:Hello Mrs Bing,

Red and white napkins sound horrible. Can't you just use Ivory or something less expressive than red.
Reply:Red an white flowers are unlucky together?
Reply:Red and white flowers represent blood and bandages, but only in a brides bouquet. I had those colours and my Irish Gran made me swap them about, so i was left with one white and 1 red bouquet. Maybe its just a brirtish thing. Napkins are fine tho i should think. Unless, maybe, its at the wedding breakfast table............... x
Reply:I use to work for a florist...and I've never heard of that. But I also don't believe in 'luck' either.

Yes, red and white napkins would be just fine...use them!
Reply:I'm not superstitious.

How can red and white napkins be unlucky? How can ANYTHING be unlucky?? There is no such thing as luck.
Reply:don't ask me i'm colour blind
Reply:Well they are meant to represent blood and bandages, so it really depends on the occasion! I would avoid it personally.
Reply:yes they are but red and white napkins yes should be OK depends on the tones there are so many types of red but sure it will be OK ...me tend not to mix red and white just my preference nothing else
Reply:Who told you red and white flowers were unlucky together??
Reply:i never heard of that.

Which flowers for a black and white wedding?

I've decided to have a black and white wedding. I'll be in white, all the bridesmaids in black dresses of their choice, and the groom and groomsmen in black tuxes. What kind and color of flowers should I have for the bouquet, boutonnière, alter, and centerpieces?

Which flowers for a black and white wedding?
Calla lillies is definately the way to go.. All your bridesmaids could have white...

and you could have black as a great contrast to your dress or white with lots of greenery.

You can even use mini callas for buttonholes.

And a mix of both colours or one colour as centrepieces. Black on white table cloths would look great.

Congratulations on you big day xxx
Reply:good luck but find white and black rose but the first answer was gREAT!!

or daisys
Reply:Well, you could go with different types of all white flowers, like peonies, roses, etc. Or you could have a splash of color so that the flowers stand out more. You could have a mostly white bouquet with a pinkish accent flower, even if its a small one, just to break up the white. Red is also a nice choice, Its bold and goes beautifully with both black and white.
Reply:I'd do something dramatic like orchids
Reply:I would go with bold colors for the flowers. Reds, purples, teals. Something like that. Even those very bright daisy will look nice. If done with white flowers.
Reply:Anything red would be stunning. You could mix red and a little white too- white hydrangeas are great or if you like red roses. You can find almost any flower in red or white
Reply:cala lillies
Reply:I think any color you like will work. I think red would look really cool with black and white. It would pull it all together.
Reply:I would go with something dramatic, and red. Calla Lilies, Roses, Gerbera Daisies... It's going to look stunning!

Good luck, and Congratulations!!!
Reply:I had a black and white wedding and the clothing was like you described. We had the tiniest splash of green too. I carried black calla lilies, the girls carried white roses sprinkled with green orchids, the groomsmen wore green orchid boutonnieres, the groom wore a white orchid boutonniere, and the centerpieces were white orchids.
Reply:For a bright color accent - red or hot pink roses.

To keep it black and white, use white Rananculus mixed with Stephanotis (with black headed straight pin instead of white).

Rananculus...http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/r...

Stephanotis...http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/s...

The Rananculus are less expensive than the peonies, but just as beautiful.

The Stephanotis with the black will give you a black and white bouquet. Wrap it with black ribbon or use it to make pomanders for the bridesmaids with a black hanging handle for an addes touch...I like pomanders for black and white weddings!
Reply:I would have to say any color/flower! My brother and sister in law also had a black and white wedding, and had gorgeous red roses :) they popped out in every photo!! It looked amazing!
Reply:i did the same thing--turned out GORGEOUS! i had white calla lilies, some other small white flowers, and lots of trailing greenery. stay with white. the natural greenery is the best accent color.
Reply:I think any color can be nice. Something really bright (red, pink, yellow) or really pale (light pink, baby blue, lavender) would be really dramatic and pretty.
Reply:most deff... i love the white peony

here is a picture...they are so pretty.

http://www.mydreamwedding.ca/uploads/Ima...
Reply:Red roses would bring out the withe and black theme...
Reply:white roses or callilies, you can sparkle black dust, or something on them for the black and white look.
Reply:Oh I am so happy you went with black and white. My colors too ya know. LOL. Same with the dresses as well.

Well a charlotte red bouquet of roses would look great for you and white roses with stephanotis for the maids.Red rose boutonniere for your groom and white ones for the groomsman. For my centerpieces I am doing 3 roses with some hanging greenery. I have the extremely tall vases for them to go in, well the venue does actually. For the altar I would use a mix of all the flowers you are using. Roses are always classic. Well I am partial to that because that's what I am doing. HeHe. If you don't like these colors/ideas you could use some pretty pinks, oranges, yellows in a mix of different flowers. Those would definitely stand out against the black.

I am having trouble with pics for ya but here is one not that great of a pic though

here are the other colors I was talking about

Why there is a sudden change in the colour of the tulip flowers from white to variously coloured like red, etc?

it is regarding mutation

Why there is a sudden change in the colour of the tulip flowers from white to variously coloured like red, etc?
Are you talking about color breaks, like you see in the "Rembrandt" tulips? The commercial ones now are genetically "color broken", while the ones that set off the Dutch "tulip mania" of the 1600s were infected with a virus called Tulip Breaking Virus, the first viral plant disease identified.

Viral breaking:

If you're talking about the genetics of color variation in tulip flowers, like the blue bottom of the tepals in some purple cultivars:

Red dress, Red shoes.. you should NOT wear red jewelery for sure. Sometimes, its good to know what you should not wear to look like a weirdo.. Make sure you wear white coloured jewlery, that would be the best match, I bet.

Why white flowers smells good?

What's with the racist question. Why you be hate'n the colored flowers. You kind of people make me sick.

Why white flowers smells good?
yes they for the most part all smell good! for example gardenia, white roses, chamomile, daisies, lillies and lots more!
Reply:white flowers are generaaly flowers that opens during night time.if flowers opens on day time it will have attractive colours to attract pollinating insects. but the only colour that helps in night is white. but even that is not sufficient to attarct insects. So the next mechanism the plant develops is attactive smell. it is not that white flowers smells best its rather flowers that open during night is white, and fragrant. hope this helps111
Reply:I don't know if color makes a difference, but you're right! My favorite two flowers for smell are jasmine and hyacinth. Both of these flowers are often white.

Why is it that you must never take a bunch of red and white flowers to a hospital ?

I know its bad luck but why ?

Why is it that you must never take a bunch of red and white flowers to a hospital ?
When working as a staff nurse I worked with a sister who would not allow red and white flowers in a bouquet together. She said it was bad luck and that it invited death on to the ward. Apparently the red represents blood and the white bandages. Why this means death I haven't a clue. She was an excellent nurse though.
Reply:This is an urban myth.

There is no truth in it at all.

Just like mobile phones will blow up petrol stations.
Reply:its supposed to mean death.
Reply:In England there exists a strong aversion to having in hospitals bouquets in which red and white flowers have been mixed. Such a combination, it is said, will bring on the death of someone on the ward where the flowers are taken, but not necessarily the demise of the recipient of the cursed nosegay. Red flowers are usually considered lucky, their scarlet hue reminiscent of blood and thereby symbolizing life, so this is a departure from the expected — normally, scarlet or crimson blooms would be greeted with approval. However, the combination of red and white, it is said, signifies blood and bandages and is therefore to be shunned. We are told florists will balk at or even refuse to make up such bunches if they know they're intended for hospital patients and that some ward sisters will forbid such floral arrangements on their floors. "My mother, then a nurse, was told off by the ward matron in the Forties for putting a patient's red and white flowers in the same vase," said one British woman to the Daily Mail.

Flowers brought to a patient should never be laid upon the ailing person's bed. Also, it is said when the ill or injured person recovers enough to go home, he must leave all his sickroom bouquets and potted plants behind lest he himself be back there shortly.

However, the greatest superstition attaching to flowers and hospital wards has to do with the floral offerings' purported ill effects upon the air in enclosed spaces. It is widely and erroneously believed flowers (cut or growing in pots) will suck up the oxygen in a sickroom, thereby depriving the invalid of needed sustenance. Our earliest print sighting of this belief dates to 1923, but the belief itself is clearly older.

Flowers do not deplete wards of their life-giving oxygen. Quite the opposite, in fact: while plants do use oxygen at night, they give off ten times as much during the day, which means their presence enriches the air rather than impoverishes it. As for any residual misgivings about leaving a sick person overnight in a room with plants that are siphoning some of the oxygen from that space, consider this: in an hour, a pound of plant leaves uses about 0.1 liters of oxygen, whereas a 150-pound person resting quietly uses more than 71 litres of the gas.

Ergo, the nurse who enters the room a few times a night to check on the patient uses far more of that space's oxygen than does a whole floral array.

Here are some flower superstitions:

* In some places, it is thought bad luck to give someone an even number of flowers, because even numbers of flowers are reserved for the dead.

* Speaking of flowers for the dead, don't take flowers off a grave, or you might soon find yourself in one.

* If you pick a dandelion that's gone to seed and blow at it, the number of seeds still on the stem will be the number of children you'll have.

* If you pick a daisy and count out the petals as you remove them with "he loves me", "he loves me not", you'll find out how the boy you fancy really feels.

* If a girl picks a bunch of flowers, especially daisies, with her eyes closed, the number of flowers indicate how many years until her marriage.

* Some flowers, such as anemones are used as charms to ward off disease or ill fortune.

* Day lilies are believed to alleviate sorrow by causing the wearer to forget her troubles. Poppies have a similar effect.

* Don't pick foxgloves or you'll offend the fairies.

* It is considered unlucky to have real flowers on stage or to give an actress flowers before a show. Use artificial flowers on the set and wait until after a performance to give flowers to a performer.
Reply:Snopes has a good article about that and more. Apparently the superstition is that they basically suck the living spirit out of someone - particularly the white flowers.

How to make the pictures black and white then add color to certain things like eyes or flowers...any answers?
That's pretty common question here posted. If you don't have a program you can download a sample program for it. The technique is called selective colorization.

An easy way of doing this is to use www.picnik.com.

Click start Pickniking. Upload your image (from a website like Picasa if you have one or from your computer), go to edit and prepare your photo. Then go to create and goto "Area" then to "Focal Point". Adjust the size to the photo to selected area you want colored, then "apply".

You can also check GLIMP for a more technical way of doing it. Here is the tutorial site for it after you download the free trial program:

Why white flowers open up only in the night?

Why white flowers open up only in the night?
It is not mysterious at all .

The plants / flowers are pollinated by insects that are nocturnal ( They are on the wings and move about only during the night time just like some animals and some birds ).

To attract them during their flight these flowers bloom during the night time . Moreover they do not waste energy on attractive colors as these will be invisible .

Instead they have heavenly fragrance !!!

So one is astonished by this insect flower relationship .
Reply:White flowers that are fragrant and open at night are usually pollinated by moths. The moths are attracted by the fragrance not by color.

Butterlflys prefer red floweres and bees prefer blue and yellow flowers.

Flies are atrracted to white flowers during the day.
Reply:it isn't all white flowers, and the ones that do are nocturnal.

I am going to a ball and i have a cute black dress with white flowers should i wear my hair up or down?
well, since im dont know what the dress looks like, i will say this; if you would like your neck to look longer ,or you have jewelry to show off,try your hair up.if you already have a long neck, keep it down.but you could always pull back part of it while it is down if you would like a more polished look.i hope you have fun!! :0)

The answer should be e: 100%

Assume R codes for red colour and r codes for white colour.

To have red flowers, the genotype must be RR. To have white flowers, genotype must be rr. To have pink, genotype must be Rr.

Crossing red flowers (RR) with white flowers (rr) in the punnet square will result in all 4 results being (Rr), which means 100% pink flowers.

The possibilities for offspring are:

Whats the best kind of flowers to go with a white house and blue roof?

I really dont want to just put random flowers in the front, I want it to look good.

Whats the best kind of flowers to go with a white house and blue roof?
You didn't mention your light requirements so I can't help you with species. But as for color, I'd go with pale yellow, sky blue and pastel peach.

Depending on your light requirements, this may include achillea (yarrow), hardy geranium, helianthemum, pulmonaria (lungwort), oenethra, coreopsis and many many others. You may want to include a few annuals with your perennials for summer-long bloom. Try browsing a plant and seed catalogue for ideas.

Always plant in clumps rather than many different individual plants. At home, I like to use what I call "anchor" plants; repeat these plantings at the ends and in the center, and fill in with different varieties. It will give your garden a pulled-together appearance. You may want to "anchor" with some lovely flowering shrubs, like viburnum, itea, hydrangea, spirea and weigela. All come in a varity of colors; again what you plant will depend on your light requirements.
Reply:You can do several different flowers all in the same color to make it look interesting on a textural level, or you can plant all the same flower. It may seem trite, but red flowers would look great. Pink will also do well. I would steer away from white. Yellow and orange would look nice.
Reply:Lots of red. Geraniums would be great. Red roses, purple coneflower, purple petunias. Don't do anything white or pale in color. You want lots of contrast. Dark greens, like Hostas would be good, too.
Reply:roses,they go with everything.
Reply:HYDRANGEAS! add the proper mix so you get the blue/purple shades
Reply:How about white daisies? The yellow centers would compliment the blue roof and bring out the whiteness of the house.

You can also try yellow tulips or daffodils if you don't like daisies. Anyhow, all three of these flowers are simple and sweet and will make your home look welcome-y.
Reply:geraniums, lilies, black-eyed susan...iris, tulips, daffodils, zinnias, clematis....

You can do what ever you love that will grow where you live.

Take into account climate, shade, water requirements of the plants, the time you want to spend caring for them....

Then visit a garden center or search the web for information. Do you want annuals (only around for one year) or perennials, which come back year after year. How much space do you have? Do you want formal looking plants or more free style? Anything goes, as long as you love them and will care for them as they need.
Reply:The ones with white flowers and blue roots. lol I think exotic lilies would look good.

The leaves look like anemonies. They can grow to 3 to 6 feet tall, and bloom in the early spring and fall. There are also other colors, pinks, purples. Best way to know for sure because some plants are easily mistaken in their early stages are to bring one to a nursery they would be able to give you a definate identification. Good Luck .

What silk flowers could be used in a wedding with color scheme of red, white, and blue?

My wedding is on July 18, 2008 and I am having a hard time coming up with what types of flowers to decorate with. I need some ideas (besided red, white, and blue roses or carnations)...

What silk flowers could be used in a wedding with color scheme of red, white, and blue?
Red and white......if you aren't careful blue silks tend to look pretty cheap.

Just take a drive to the Garden Ridge or equivilant craft store in your area and walk around. Browse up and down aisles and load the cart with any flower in your colors that catch your eye, then narrow down to a few. What would be good for you will depend on the other details of your wedding like budget, formality, time/date....etc.

The good news about silks is if you see a flower that you like in nature but say it only comes in pink....you can probably find a red silk version.
Reply:Those colors are going to be beautiful.

Bluebonnets

hydrangias

poppies

I would recommend searching through real flower photos to get ideas.

Is it acceptable to wear a white flowered dress to a wedding?

I have a white dress with a floral print that I'd like to wear to a wedding. There are plenty of flowers, but the background color is white. Can I wear it?

Is it acceptable to wear a white flowered dress to a wedding?
Yes, yes, yes. There is little likelihood that you will be seen as competing with the bride, particularly if you wear dressy shoes that bring out the color of the flowers or carry a bright patent bag!
Reply:i would honestly stay away from white - period!! the bride is ment to look unique and shes really the only 1 who is to wear white on the day and just to be on the safe side id go with a different colour because she may get pretty upset with what u wear...some brides just dont accept white at all on their guests!!

but your best bet is to maybe show her the dress and ask her if its acceptable, if she minds if u wear it or would she rather u didnt.

good luck
Reply:I guess that's ok. Although, the only person that should be wearing white, is the girl who's getting married. It depends on how much white is on it.
Reply:I'd say it is okay. You may possibley want to add in some colored accesories witch match the floral print, and a nice pair of colored flats. Even if you don't I think it should be alright. I really hope I helped.

Why white flowers open up only in the night?
This effect is related to the fact that they are pollinated by night insects.

Flower clocks are good only during sunny weather. Periodicity of opening and closing of flowers and inflorescences depends not only from nature conditions but from place of plant vegetation. In fact the same species differently show opening times in Sweden and near the Moscow.

Not all white flowers open at night. Not all night-opening flowers are white.
Reply:Not all white flowers open at night but some night flowering cactus will open at night due to the dry weather that makes it more likely to be pollenated at night and not waste moisture due to the dry climate. Report It

Reply:Bright colours of the flowers is only to attract insects, but during night the colours will not serve the purpose so the flowers which blossom at night are white to overcome this such flowers as strong smell.

I have a plant on my desk at work. I'm pretty sure it is Daisy's. White flowers with a yellow center.

They are looking very bad! How do I take care of them? I do not have a green anything and really don't want them to die.

Please help!!

I have a plant on my desk at work. I'm pretty sure it is Daisy's. White flowers with a yellow center.
If they are cut flowers, they will ultimately die. If it is a potted plant, remove flowers as they fade this encourages reblooming, remove yellowed leaves for aesthetic reasons, give mild fertilizer solution. Best office plants are those that don't require much sunlight: Impatiens, pothos, zebra plant, spider plant, there are lots.
Reply:Sounds like a kind of daisy. They need a lot of sun and most offices don't have it. They also don't like to be overwatered, so if they are very wet all the time, they are not happy. Best idea is to take them home and plant them outside.
Reply:I would take the plant home and cut it off about 2 inches from the bottom and put it in a sunny window and start fertilizing it about once amonth it will look pretty ugly for a little while but it will throw out new shoots and pretty soon it will look good again(I had a mum I just had to do this to) go to the grocery store and by a shamrock plant to put on your desk since st Padd'ys day is just around the corner! They are a nice bloomiing plant for the season.

Honeysuckle or Jasmine?

Reply:try peroxide
Reply:You could try Oxy clean but I would try it on a corner of the garment to test for colour fastness then if it does not fade you could try it on one dot of the splatter. I got Blood red shoe dye out of one of my suits with Oxy clean. The best of luck to you!
