I haven't found it in flowering cherries or peaches or crabapples. It was in the school grounds of a 100 yr old bldg. must be able to live in zones 4-6. blossoms are like carnations or dianthus but smaller, in clumps on the branch. very deep color.
Looking for tree w/ crimson %26amp; white flowers (3/4" like dianthus. 20x20' no fruit. thick crackly bark.
A Yahoo search for "tree identification guide" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 11,800 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.
