It is coming out from the middle of its leaves, but this is only happening in one section and this is a very big tree.
My corn plant has a white flower growing out of it. Is this normal?
It's not quite a flower exactly but it does get a white plume of sorts coming out. That is normal - we grew three stalks of corn last year and all did that. We learned that corn stalks don't produce much corn either! I guess we need a lot more this year to get a decent crop out of them.
If it's an actual FLOWER flower on it, then check for a vine or something else growing with it, but just a white plume is quite normal.
Reply:no corn stalks do not flower.look at the bottom of the stalk to see if there is a small vine growing up it.you may not see leafs on the vine making it hard to see.it should not hurt your stalks, but i would remove the ones you can.this is very common.just watch out for them silk warms.
Reply:For one corn plants are not trees they are stalks of a plant and yes they are supposed to flower that means the plant is getting ready to bud ears and/or already making the vegetable grow on the plant.
Reply:Yes, it's normal about once a year.
